Monotony

Tickery tickery tock

Everyday I punch the clock

Wait for the needle to

Hit six without further ado

The files stare at me

The boss keeps glaring

The needle moves forward

My insides keep flaring

But then they settle

For it is in vain

I just need to copy

There’s no use for brain

It was supposed to be

A two time deal

Come with a wail

And part with a smile

Now, each day I die a little

With me, my dreams brittle

Tick tock tick tock

I just punch the clock

The corporate life sucks the essence right out of some people and in the race to earn money and keep up, people let it be and ultimately just become machines. With this post I hope people realise that money though important is much smaller than inner satisfaction which comes only when we do what we love.
