Heartstrings

When he smiles, her heart’s elated

When he plays, she becomes a kid

When he cries, her spirits drain

When he’s sick, she feels the pain

When he walks, she knows no other

Such is the love of a mother

When he rebuffs, her agony’s intense

When he calls, she leaves all else

When he loves, her grooming’s known

When he fights, she questions her own

When he needs, she has no tether

Such is the love of a mother

There are no words that can truly express or even begin to explain a mother’s love for her child. A mother can feel her child’s pain miles apart from him without any intimation that something is wrong. She just knows. This connection is unbreakable.
