Expose

I can see it in your eyes,

The sheer spark in them,

Illuminating your deepest desires

Only if earlier I knew

You write poetry, don’t you?

I can feel it in your smile,

The exuberant beauty of it,

Divulging your inner contentment

In my heart, I know it to be true

You write poetry, don’t you?

I can grasp it from your gestures,

The directional force to them,

Revealing your calculative impulsiveness

Along with flurrying thoughts to stew

You write poetry, don’t you?

I can sense it in your speech,

The melodious cadence to it,

Exposing your self confidence

Nothing in life to misconstrue

You write poetry, don’t you?

With the way he/she walks, talks, observes and pretty much does everything else, a writer can be recognized amidst a throng of people. There is something unique about the knowledge that drips from their eyes, and the empathy with which they treat everything around them.
